Garlic 1% in El Paso, TX was formed with the mission of bringing sincerity, recovery and love to the culinary space. Our founders both experienced tragedies, losing a wife and a husband through battles with cancer and diabetes. After these terrible losses, they made it their mission to protect their children’s futures by introducing healthier eating and exercise. Instead of living with regrets, they took action to help their own families and others in the community by making healthy, nutritious food delicious, using ingredients like kimchi, fermented garlic and many more. They combined their talents and formed the Korean restaurant you see today.

Our Korean restaurant’s head chef has been perfecting her craft for over 30 years. She’s learned her trade by working in Italian, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese restaurants. She even serves food for hundreds of people at her Korean Presbyterian Church. She has a passion for introducing healthy and flavorful ingredients, like kimchi and other traditional Korean ingredients, into new dishes.
Our founder served in the US Army and was in charge of military operational planning and communication. He pushed productivity and efficiency and now brings this focus to Garlic 1%.
